2. In addition, they will have their regular meeting on July 27th.
Topic: vir·tu·al se·cu·ri·ty  (s-kyr-t) (vûrch-l) - "Simulated freedom from risk or danger?"

The Information Security industry has been pretty good about developing solutions for data-in-motion over the past 12 years or so. In recent years, there have been focused advances on security for data-at-rest. But the financial imperatives to move toward cloud-based services and virtual environments stymie many of the traditional information defense tools. We now have to focus on data-in-use.

In this lively 29 minute presentation, Kelly Robertson will describe specifically how the status quo of Information Security fails to meet the evolving security risks that are unique to just-in-time, often ephemeral, information delivery and use. What is the industry doing to morph with these business imperatives besides renaming their data sheets and writing papers that invoke the word "Virtual"? We will look at nine scenarios.

BIO:
Kelly Robertson is a senior technical executive with 18 years of experience in telecommunications and networking security. From the early days of rapid firewall development  and VPN adoption to Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems, Kelly has worked with Enterprise and Telecommunications carriers globally to ensure that products are actually solutions. He has a background in the United States Air Force, holds a collegiate teaching credential in California and is currently the CEO of 9Proof Americas, a software firm devoted to security in virtual environments and regulatory compliance.
